Artist Statement

In a world that often prizes convention, my art stands as a vibrant testament to the beauty of rebellion. Utilizing a dynamic array of mediums from- acrylics and epoxy to Clay and wire Armature I craft pieces that defy easy categorization. My work, which spans from abstract explorations to evocative beach and ocean scenes, is united by a consistent thread: a bold, unapologetic use of color and texture that seeks to engage the senses and provoke emotional responses. My artistic process is deeply intuitive, inspired by transient thoughts and the desire to manifest the intangible. Each piece begins as a whisper of an idea, which I developed through spontaneous experimentation with materials and techniques. This approach allows me to push the boundaries of traditional media and explore new Realms of possibility. The influence of artists like, Stanislov Lazarov, with his masterful contrast of light and dark, echoes in my work, pushing me to explore how light can be both captured and created with color. The purpose of my art is simple yet profound: to evoke feeling. Whether it's awe, joy, curiosity or nostalgia, I aim to stir something in the viewer, to pause their world for a moment and pull them into mine. Through my sculptures and paintings, I strive to make the world a more beautiful place, believing that beauty itself can be a profound source of joy and inspiration. My background in sculpting, combined with a lifelong passion for creativity, fuels my exploration of three-dimensional art on canvas. Pieces like "The Circus" represents my quest to defy gravity, using wire mesh, plaster cloth, and wire Armature to create seemingly impossible forms period meanwhile, "Judy's Garden" showcases my love for texture and color, where knife painting techniques meet bold, vibrant hues, softened by an almost ethereal quality. Every artwork I create is an adventure, a new chapter in my ongoing dialogue with materials and ideas.
